60D Shutter Won't Fire with my EF 24-70 Lens

    But works fine with all my other lenses.
    Also, the metering appears to be funky and the viewfinder appears "grainy."

    Please help!

    You could try cleaning the contacts on the lens and camera body, and if that doesn't resolve the problem you're probably looking at an expensive service - or a new lens.

    Thx. I cleaned the contacts. Shoots in MF, but funky metering. In AF it tries to focus, but never does, hence no firing...Also, "grainy" viewfinder.

    Is this something a local shop can manage, or is it a ship to Canon (or)deal?

    I think you have confirmed that it's a lens issue so you have a choice to make based on what you think the lens is worth. You could contact a local repair shop - I have no idea where you live so that may not be an option.
    You could contact Canon and request a quote for an inspection/repair - likely to be very expensive assuming they will do it.
    Balance the relative costs of the above against buying another lens.
    The final decision is yours I'm afraid. Good luck with whatever option you choose.
