Hi. I have a Canon EOS M5 that suddenley for no reason wnt dark and can't be turned on? I am thinking about sending it to Canon, but maybe there is a solution here? It hasn't been dropped or bathed in moist.
I no longer have my M5, but this is from the manual - I assume you are confident that you have a good, fully charged battery?
what lens were you using at the time? i have the M50 and its done similar when i've had a third party lens on it maybe 4-5 times in as many years, not sure if the info between lens and camera gets messed up but my solution has been to remove the lens and battery then reinstall the battery with an efm lens on the body and it seems to work sometimes i can remove the third party lens then the canon adapter, put the lens and adapter on separately then it works,
Just an update on this: I sent the camera to Canon repair in Sweden. They came back wit an estimate of 844 dollars to fix it. Saying that it is severe moist cause the problem, for the lens to. I wonder if it is possible to repair myself or just let it go?
