Greetings fellow Canoneers! I joined this forum a couple of years ago, my new--to-me Rebel t3i in hand and full of anticipation in getting into digital photography beyond basic. But due to other issues I just didin't have time to devote to this forum.

So now I'm going to re-activate with my (yes, new-to-me) either 5D Mk IV or my 6D Mk II. I say either because I want to send the camera to Canon for a repair of which I was fully aware of when I bought it at a tremendous discount.

But here's the rub: In checking out the camera's S/N on the Canon website, it shows as a 5D Mk IV, not a 6D. YET the camera body says it's a 6D Mk II. Does anyone know if Canon ran their S/N's together for the two models? Seems weird.

Not terribly likely .... you sure it wasn't just a mistype of a 0 vs O or something of that sort?

Pics of camera and Serial? We could try typing it in ourselves to the site and see if we get different results...

Thanks for the comeback...I finally got the camera physically in my hands and I checked that it is indeed a 6D Mk II. Only one SD card slot.
I think the Canon people have a problem, not I. I already sent the camera off to Canon to repair the LCD on top of the camera so I don't have the S/N immediately handy but I think subbing "O" for "0" isn't like since what came up was the 5D Mark IV. Anyway,. the minor mystery is solved.
