have had the 70D for about 10 years now. Its been lightly used for family pics here and there. Recently my son started using it more and taking video. Now we are getting the error 80. I found that this was a common issue and my sn fell into the recall. I called Canon and i missed the recall window since the camera is so old.

Is there any repair shops i can take this to to get repair? I would love to fix it since its should have more life left on the shutter as the pic count is low.

If i cant get repaired what would be my best option to replace the body so i can reuse all the lens? Find a used 80D? Go with a new R10?

Thanks for any help and guidance.

Err 80 on the 70D usually means something has failed on the internal board, which is why Canon had that recall in the first place. Since the recall period is long over, they won’t take it in anymore and the official repair cost can be higher than what the camera is worth today.
You can still check with a good third-party repair shop, but parts for the 70D are getting harder to find. The R10 is a nice modern option if you don’t mind using an EF-to-RF adapter.
