I bought this lens new, and it remains in pristine, like-new condition, with no scratches or signs of wear on the lens itself. There are subtle signs of wear on the lens cap and hood, but they don’t stand out. This has always been kept secure in a case when not in use. This has been my favorite lens. It lives up to all the hype: sharp from corner to corner, across the focal range; excellent internal image stabilization; and super-quick autofocus. And it’s built like a tank! Seriously, they don’t make them like this anymore. I’m only selling it because I’ve moved to the RF system and use extenders, so it is easier to use the RF version. However, the RF version is quite plasticky and nowhere near as robust as the EF version. The EF weighs about a pound more, but it does feel nice in hand. This lens coupled to a 5D Mark IV is a perfect setup. I’ve used it that way and with an R6 and EF-to-RF adaptor; and it works just as well as it did on my 5D IV.
