I have a Canon G5X camera, which worked perfectly until I accidently dropped it.

The damage: The lens will no longer close (or open). It sems like the retracting mechanism is stuck.

Nothing is cracked. Please see attached photos.

Can someone advise me on a good service place that will fix this issue?

If it helps in any way, I am in Brooklyn, New York.

If I am not mistaken places like B&H or calumet may have authorized canon service techs. I would call Canon and get their list of recommended service places locally. Then I would ask B&H /Calumet/ your preferred camera store. Compare the two and go from there.

It looks as though the front section of your lens is misaligned, this can be just a simple matter of the mechanism jumping out of it's slot. Without having the camera turned on try wiggling the front section carefully by hand and you may be able to relocate it to the correct position, sometimes works and can save you the cost of a repair.
