I have had the Canon R6 Mark II for a few days now. Unlike my 70D, I cannot transfer/upload the Raw and Craw files to the Photos app on my Mac. The Jpegs do work. The Raw files are displayed as afphoto on my SD card. I can't find anything on the internet that solves my problem...

This is simply a support issue for the newer cr3 raw files..... Just with adobe support that is a jup from camera raw 8.2 to version 14.4. Photo editors have to update to support new cameras and their raw files as they come out.

I don't believe Mac has a site that mentions versioning for their photo application and its raw support. How new of a version of mac OS are you running? I never have used the photos app to open raw and save as jpgs.... usually work with Lightroom.

Found this about Mac OS 15 support for camera models...

Also seems that raw can cause the app to hang, and you should be using use raw as original setting...https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4674009 and https://eshop.macsales.com/blog/74009-raw-files-in-macos-photos/

Thank you johnsey for your quick answer! In the meantime, I was advised to use Adobe DNG Converter to convert the Canon R6mkii Raw files to a more "universal" raw format. And this works perfectly (waiting for Apple to do this automatically)
    PROBLEM SOLVED! I'm Happy :)
