I'd like to get an external microphone for use with my Canon R6 Mark II for recording video of football ("soccer") matches. My understanding is that many external (shotgun) microphones are mainly limited to recording audio directly in front of the camera and so might not be well suited for recording a sports event where the players on the field are a bit further from the camera. Anyone have experience with external microphones that would be well suited for recording audio during the video recording of such a sports event?
