I've got an EF 28-90 4-5.6 (I think model II but I'm not entirely sure, the label is more or less unreadable) with a badly damaged front element - it's more or less opaque because something weird is going on between the layers of glass, looks like the cement is going bad, but so far as I can tell the electronics and motor are OK. It occurred to me to wonder if anyone here has one that's gone wrong for some other reason. My aim here is to fix it and sell it on, but they don't go for much money so I can't really pay much. I've thought about trying the cheapo macro conversion instead, but it doesn't seem to work particularly well with this lens compared to the results I've seen from a 35-80.
Sold the lens as it was, for spares - apparently I missed a message that someone has a front assembly, for which many apologies.
