Hi I have recently purchased a Canon EOS 4000D. I need the camera to take good images of documents, programmes and books. At present I use the Auto setting but the images are not as clear as I would like. Can anyone advise me of the settings I should use to take the good, clear, images that I an seeking. Thanks, Martin
I think it would help to see the images and understand your process. The problem i see is a setup to do this would be very elaborate considering the use, The same use case is considered for photographing artwork in an museum for example... 1. You need level images so that the focus is consistent. For example if flat on a table the camera should be above point at the page downward with front of lens parallel perfectly. I assumed this is better than pinning the pages to a wall and shooting straight on. So the tripod structure and mountain of the pages/ documents is a consideration. 2. Big issue is lighting. Lighting would be hard to get flat and consistent without a ring light, maybe you cold do some nice cross lighting with LED Panels. 3. Your definitely going to have issues with existing light indoors in a table over setup with existing light as it is not very strong and would require shutter speeds to slow to handhold at a f8 which is what i would probably use for documentation, as well as focus in low loght will struggle to be tact sharp without better lighting. All this to say a flatbed scanner is 100 bucks, and will do consistently great job of this in a fraction of the time.
Hi Many thanks for your quick reply and suggestions. Much appreciated. I did not think of the scanner option so I will give this a try as well.
